2025 in Photos: Memorable Moments and Mishaps

There have been numerous noteworthy events in 2025, all captured by diligent photographers. From Donald Trump’s exuberant celebration with Chelsea players to a glamorous appearance by Dame Andrea Jenkyns at Reform’s conference, the year has been filled with memorable moments.

Let’s take a look at some of the most interesting photos from the past year. At the G7 summit in June, there was a mishap when the US President accidentally dropped some files, prompting the Prime Minister to retrieve them. A soldier appears apprehensive in a photo featuring Kemi Badenoch during her visit to Carver Barracks in Essex last June.

During the Tory Conference, Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick was pictured emphasizing a point about the judiciary. In a unique entrance at Reform UK’s conference in May, Dame Andrea Jenkyns took the stage in a glittery jumpsuit, singing a song she had written in her youth, ‘Insomniac.’

Cabinet members Wes Streeting and Lisa Nandy, accompanied by former Labour MP Jonathan Ashworth, showcased their vocal talents at The Mirror’s renowned party during Labour’s conference in Liverpool. The Tory conference this year saw several empty seats during major speeches.

Former Prime Minister Liz Truss made a cameo in a video with bare-knuckle fighter Dougie Joyce during the summer, promoting Joyce’s whiskey brand. Former Reform MP Rupert Lowe experienced joy in August when he was reunited with his gun collection, previously seized by armed police.

One of the highlights of the Parliamentary calendar is the Westminster Dog of the Year show, where MPs compete with their pets for the top prize. Boris Johnson had a colorful reaction after being bitten by an ostrich while out with his family. Nigel Farage’s faction welcomed former Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries, boosting their ranks.

While the Tory conference may not have been particularly lively this year, Kemi Badenoch brought some cheer by belting out “Sweet Caroline” in the bar. In August, David Lammy and US Vice President JD Vance were seen fishing at Chevening House in Kent, although it later surfaced that Lammy lacked a fishing license.

Donald Trump drew attention by celebrating with Chelsea players as they won the club World Cup in the summer, raising speculation about his involvement in the upcoming international events in 2026. The decision to grant Trump a second state visit sparked protests in London upon his arrival.

Finally, the Prime Minister issued an apology at the end of the year to a headteacher after encouraging primary school children to participate in the viral 6-7 dance craze.
