This storm is expected to approach from the West in the early hours, covering the entire country, affecting almost every region.
WXCharts forecasts that by 6am on January 7, a deep low-pressure system will move near the UK, drawing moisture into the cold air mass, leading to heavy snow bands, particularly in northern and eastern parts of England and Scotland. Western areas may experience rain or sleet initially, transitioning quickly to snow as colder air arrives. The ECMWF model suggests the UK could witness one of the most significant snow events of the winter, affecting almost all areas.
Temperature predictions for midnight on January 7 show potential lows of -12C in central and eastern Scotland, while England and Wales could experience overnight temperatures between -2C and -5C.
