A young man’s life took a drastic turn after a terrible accident that left him severely injured at the age of 18. Loren Schauers was driving on a bridge when he lost control of the vehicle, leading to a 50ft fall. Despite being trapped under a heavy truck, he managed to stay conscious throughout the ordeal.
In September 2019, Loren underwent a complex surgery resulting in the loss of three limbs. He embarked on a challenging journey to recovery, defying the odds to not only survive but also continue living his life to the fullest. Hailing from Montana, Loren underwent a rare hemicorporectomy procedure, a surgery undergone by fewer than 100 individuals worldwide.
Following the accident six years ago, where he was crushed by a truck, all the lower part of Loren’s body had to be amputated. Nevertheless, he refused to let the incident hinder his life progress. He tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Sabia Reiche, who stood by him unwaveringly through the traumatic event and the slow recuperation process.
Now 24, Loren recently shared his sentiments about the things he misses most since the life-altering incident. He expressed a longing for the simple pleasure of driving his truck, a passion he cherished deeply. Before the accident, he and his wife had aspirations of traveling across Montana in a camper while he pursued a career in construction.
However, the accident reshaped his future plans, forcing him to abandon his construction ambitions. To sustain themselves financially, the couple turned to social media, sharing their daily experiences through videos. Despite their initial success, Loren admitted that their once-popular channel is now struggling.
Looking ahead, Loren has set new career goals involving gaming and reviewing businesses specializing in disability equipment. Leveraging his social media presence, he sees potential in producing content on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. His primary focus now is acquiring proper prosthetics, equipment, and technology to enhance his day-to-day independence.
