“Russian Missile Strike Kills 10 in Ukraine Village”

A deadly missile strike by Russian forces claimed the lives of 10 individuals in a village located in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine, as confirmed by Ukrainian officials. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced the attack, describing it as a brutal assault on a bustling area in Pechenihy, Kharkiv region, surrounded by residential buildings, post office, and stores. Zelenskyy vowed a response to the strike, showcasing images of the destruction, burning cars, and emergency responders aiding injured individuals.

Reports indicated that 17 people sustained injuries in the assault, with the governor of the region, Oleh Syniehubov, providing details on the extent of the damage. The strike caused significant destruction to residential buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and several vehicles in the village. Initial information from Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office pointed to the use of two small Banderol cruise missiles by Russian forces during the attack.

Simultaneously, Ukraine launched a massive drone offensive targeting Moscow and its vicinity, deploying 620 drones in one of Kyiv’s most extensive air assaults on the region. The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, reported that Russian forces managed to down 180 drones over the Moscow area, resulting in emergency responses to the crash sites. The drones targeted various facilities, including a warehouse belonging to the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries, causing minor damages and injuries.

Furthermore, multiple Russian-controlled regions, including Crimea, reported intense drone attacks from Ukraine, leading to power supply disruptions and challenges in various areas. Amidst these developments, Russia issued a warning to Britain over allegations of supplying drones to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territory. The Russian embassy in London highlighted potential consequences for Britain’s involvement in the conflict, emphasizing the need for accountability in supporting Ukraine’s military activities.

In response, Britain’s Defence Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to standing with Ukraine and providing necessary equipment for defense against the ongoing conflict. The ministry did not confirm the use of British drones in the attacks. Earlier, Britain had pledged to supply 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 as part of a substantial funding package to support Ukraine’s defense efforts.
