Matteo Leone’s flatmates found him unresponsive early on Sunday, January 4. Despite immediate emergency assistance, Matteo passed away, likely in his sleep. Matteo, who was described as content with his bartending job in London, was captured in a photo beaming while crafting a cocktail at Shoreditch’s Looking Glass Cocktail Club. Originally from Canosa di Puglia and having spent a significant part of his life in Castiglione Messer Raimondo, Matteo had been in London for some time, relocating after completing his studies to embrace city life and enhance his English skills.
Following the tragic news, Matteo’s father, Graziano Leone, a police station chief in Pescara, flew to London. Survived by his mother and three siblings, a gathering in honor of Matteo was held at Shoreditch Park the previous evening. Plans are underway to repatriate his body to Italy.
