Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the announcement of an update by the popular UK TV platform. The update introduces various changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has stated that certain broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
There have been four notable changes announced. Firstly, three existing channels have undergone rebranding, resulting in new names that will now be visible in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, offering music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply referred to as That’s Classics.
In addition to the rebrands, a new channel called That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. Although specific program listings are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon. Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of the ongoing changes as broadcasters regularly fine-tune their offerings to maintain a varied and up-to-date content selection.
Freeview users are encouraged to monitor their TV planner for these changes. If the updates do not automatically appear, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on the remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Your device will then proceed to search for and store the updated channels automatically.
Although Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is considered significant, underscoring the importance of retuning sooner rather than later for users.
