“Four Men Arrested in Sheffield Shooting on Christmas”

Four individuals have been apprehended on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting incident in Sheffield that critically injured a man on Christmas Day.

Law enforcement received reports of the shooting just before midnight at 11:27 pm and swiftly responded to Wilfred Drive in Darnall, where a 20-year-old male had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, leaving him in critical condition in a hospital.

A prompt investigation ensued, leading to the arrest of four men, aged 20, 22, 28, and 29, all detained on suspicion of attempted murder and currently held in police custody. South Yorkshire Police have stated that they will continue their inquiries at the scene.

Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, the Senior Investigating Officer from the Major Crime Team, condemned the incident as appalling, emphasizing the grave danger that gun violence poses to the community. He underscored that such actions will not be tolerated and vowed resolute action against individuals engaging in violence or illegal firearm possession, urging community support in tackling such crimes.
