A father successfully rescued his daughter, who had been abducted at knifepoint, by utilizing parental control to track her phone.
The incident unfolded on Christmas Day in Porter, Texas, when the 15-year-old girl went out to walk her dog around 4:50 pm. Concerned when she did not return home promptly, her father used the phone-tracking feature to pinpoint her location in a remote wooded area in Harris County, approximately two miles away from Porter.
Upon arriving at the location, the father discovered his daughter inside a maroon pickup truck with a partially clothed 23-year-old male. He managed to help his daughter escape from the vehicle, and law enforcement was promptly notified.
The kidnapper, identified as 23-year-old Giovanni Rosales Espinoza, was apprehended by the police. Witnesses provided a description of the truck, aiding in his capture. Rosales Espinoza now faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child for allegedly threatening the girl with a knife and abducting her from the street. He is currently held in custody at Montgomery County Jail without bond.
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle expressed pride in the swift apprehension of the suspect, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement to ensuring community safety. The family of the rescued teenager, who opted to remain anonymous, expressed gratitude for her safe return and emphasized their lack of familiarity with the perpetrator.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with the sheriff’s office refraining from releasing further details at this time.
