ICE Shooting Update: Autopsy Reveals Fatal Gunshot

An examination of the circumstances surrounding the death of Renee Good, a mother, revealed which of the three gunshots fired by an ICE officer led to her demise in an incident in Minneapolis.

According to the autopsy conducted on behalf of Renee’s family, she sustained gunshot wounds to her left forearm and breast, with the latter not causing damage to any vital organs. However, neither of these injuries was deemed life-threatening.

The examination also indicated that a third bullet entered Renee’s head near her temple and exited on the right side, causing a graze wound. The autopsy was performed by an esteemed independent medical pathologist, as confirmed by the family’s legal representatives, including Attorney Antonio M. Romanucci.

The lawyers expressed confidence in the evidence gathered, stating that it will support their case as the investigation progresses. They emphasized the clarity of the video evidence from the incident on January 7, 2026, particularly when assessed based on standards of reasonable policing and the overall circumstances.

As of now, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released its autopsy findings on the January 7 fatality. Renee, aged 37, was shot while inside her SUV during a confrontation involving ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who had recorded her and her partner before positioning himself in front of the vehicle.

Following commands to exit the SUV, Renee moved the car forward, with conflicting reports on whether she hit Ross. Subsequently, Ross was heard making derogatory remarks before Renee’s vehicle collided with parked cars. The incident has sparked a divisive reaction among Americans, with conservatives defending Ross’s actions while liberals denounce the shooting.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem labeled Renee as a “domestic terrorist” without evidence to support the claim, asserting that Ross acted in self-defense. In contrast, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey criticized federal officials and demanded that ICE leave the city, while an FBI probe into the shooting is ongoing.
