A tragic incident at Walt Disney World has led to the discovery of a sixth body within just four months, adding to the string of unfortunate events at the renowned theme park.
Authorities from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are looking into the case as a potential suicide following a call received at the theme park around 9 pm on Friday. This marks the sixth fatality at the Orlando resort in a short span of four months.
In response to the situation, there are discussions about shutting down the Disney Springs area to ensure the safety of visitors and to facilitate a comprehensive forensic investigation, as reported by Inside the Magic blog.
The series of deaths began on October 14 when Summer Equitz, a 31-year-old Disney enthusiast, tragically took her own life at the Contemporary Resort Hotel. Subsequently, on October 23, an aspiring NFL referee also committed suicide at the same hotel.
On October 21, a 60-year-old man, who remains unidentified, passed away at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground due to a medical episode. He was found unresponsive by his wife, and reports indicated he had underlying health conditions.
Another unfortunate incident occurred on November 2 when a woman was found unresponsive at the Pop Century Resort and later passed away in the hospital, with no suspicion of foul play.
Furthermore, on November 8, another unidentified person lost their life at the Saratoga Springs Resort. These incidents have occurred alongside a recent accident involving a Disney World worker who was injured while preventing a large prop boulder from endangering audience members during a show at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.
Following the incident, adjustments were made to the show, and a review is underway to understand how the prop boulder veered off course. Disney emphasized its commitment to safety and stated that modifications will be made to ensure the well-being of all involved.
