After a thorough 24-hour search, Sudbury authorities have located the body of a 26-year-old man who drowned in Crowley Lake when his canoe overturned. The incident prompted a swift response from firefighters, paramedics, and police, who were deployed to the lake shortly after 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
The man’s body was recovered at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, but his identity has been withheld out of respect for his family’s privacy. According to reports, a canoe carrying three individuals capsized on the lake, with two being rescued by kayakers who brought them safely to shore.
Following the incident, emergency responders, including the K-9 unit, conducted a thorough search of the area both on foot and from the air, utilizing a drone and an Ontario Provincial Police helicopter to locate the missing man.
