“Mysterious Explosions Rock Venezuela Amid Tensions”

Venezuela was rattled by a series of mysterious explosions this morning, as residents reported hearing at least seven blasts and witnessing low-flying aircraft over the capital city of Caracas.

Loud noises reverberated throughout the city, accompanied by sightings of smoke rising from one location. These incidents unfolded amid heightened tensions sparked by escalating threats directed at Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by the US President, Donald Trump. Witnesses recounted being jolted awake by the explosions and the presence of aircraft overhead in the predawn hours.

The cause of the explosions remains unconfirmed. The initial round of blasts occurred around 1:50 am local time, as reported by CNN, with authorities yet to provide an immediate explanation.

Reports indicate that Fort Tiuna, which houses the Venezuelan Ministry of Defense, was one of the areas affected. Additionally, a section of southern Caracas, near a significant military installation, experienced a power outage.

The events followed remarks by Donald Trump suggesting a shift from drone strikes on suspected Venezuelan drug boats to potential land operations. Trump’s statements, made after a conversation with President Maduro, included declarations that Venezuelan airspace should be regarded as off-limits and hinted at imminent military actions.

Furthermore, Trump disclosed in a recent WABC interview that US forces had initiated land operations within Venezuela, citing a recent strike on a significant facility used for ship operations.

Since September of the previous year, the Department of War has targeted numerous suspected drug vessels in the Caribbean and Atlantic regions. According to data released by the Trump administration, there have been 35 confirmed boat strikes, resulting in the deaths of at least 115 individuals.
