“Mother detained for assaulting officer in incest case”

A woman, aged 33, residing in Brest, France, with three children fathered by her father, has been detained before trial for assaulting a public service officer, as confirmed by authorities.

The mother, who herself endured years of abuse, had been under judicial supervision just a month ago, following the imprisonment of her 58-year-old father. The father, who had been living with her as a ‘couple’ and is the biological father of her three children, admitted during police investigations to sexually abusing his daughter, including administering antipsychotic drugs.

He also admitted to coercing his 11-year-old son into engaging in sexual acts with his mother, while exposing him to pornographic material. The disturbing revelations came to light after the Finistère Departmental Council reported the abuses, leading to a police inquiry.

The accounts provided by the children, an 11-year-old boy and his eight-year-old twin sisters, corroborated the incidents, highlighting years of abuse in a violent and abnormal household. The children were taken into care by social services, with the boy receiving 30 days of temporary incapacity leave and the girls granted eight days.

Following her father’s arrest on November 26, 2025, the mother was charged with habitual violence and corrupting a minor but was initially released under judicial supervision. However, reports indicate a history of violence against public officials, as she allegedly assaulted a court clerk during a juvenile court hearing two years ago.

Subsequently, her recent attack on an officer led to her placement in pre-trial detention at Brest prison, where her father is also detained. The father is facing charges of aggravated incestuous rape, corruption of a minor, and habitual violence against minors, having confessed to raping his daughter and pressuring his son into sexual acts with her.

Both parents are considered innocent pending investigations, but the severity and extent of the crimes, involving multiple children within the same family, have garnered widespread attention. Stéphane Kellenberger, Brest’s public prosecutor, stated that investigations are ongoing, with the presumption of innocence maintained for the accused as authorities delve into the full scope of the abuse and its setting.
