Man in Custody After Hospital Assault with Weapon

A man was taken into custody following an incident where five individuals sustained injuries in an alleged assault with a weapon at a bustling hospital. Witnesses at Newton Community Hospital in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, reported that the occurrence, suspected to involve a crowbar, occurred shortly after noon, with law enforcement still present at the site.

Merseyside Police issued a statement stating that a 20-year-old male was apprehended after reports emerged of the assault on five individuals at Newton Community Hospital in Newton-Le-Willows earlier in the day. The report indicated that the man had visited the hospital seeking an appointment, which was declined. Subsequently, he grew agitated, damaged a counter, and proceeded to assault multiple people within the hospital using a weapon, potentially a crowbar.

Paramedics are currently treating the injured individuals at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. St. Helen’s Police shared an update on the situation at Newton Community Hospital, confirming the arrest of a man in his twenties, with officers continuing to be present at the location. Further updates are anticipated, and the public is urged to follow their social media channels for additional information.
