JD Vance and his wife, Usha, are anticipating the arrival of their fourth child. The office of the Second Lady, aged 40, officially confirmed that their son is due to be born later this year.
In a recent statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, the couple expressed their joy about Usha’s pregnancy with their fourth child, a boy. They shared that both Usha and the baby are in good health, and they are eagerly awaiting his arrival in late July.
Expressing gratitude during this eventful time, they specifically acknowledged the military doctors who provide excellent care for their family, as well as all the supportive staff enabling them to serve the country while enjoying a fulfilling family life. The message was signed off by Vice President JD and Usha.
Usha is set to become the first Second Lady to give birth while holding office. Notably, the last First Lady to give birth during her time in office was Jackie Kennedy, the spouse of President John F. Kennedy, back in 1963.
The Vice President and his wife first met in 2013 while both were students at Yale Law School, where they became part of the same discussion group. Upon their initial encounter, JD, also known as James David, confessed his love for his future wife. In his memoir, he described Usha as his “Yale spirit guide,” helping him navigate the Ivy League environment coming from a working-class background.
JD expressed his intense feelings for Usha, with friends and teachers noting his deep affection for her. The couple exchanged vows in two ceremonies, blending their Christian and Hindu traditions.
Their union took place on June 14, 2014, in Kentucky, JD’s hometown, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. They later had a Hindu ceremony, honoring Usha’s cultural heritage.
Since then, they have welcomed three children: sons Ewan, aged eight, Vivek, aged five, and daughter Mirabel, aged four. Despite recent rumors suggesting marital discord, the couple remains focused on their expanding family.
Addressing speculation surrounding their relationship, JD dismissed the rumors, emphasizing their strong bond. He commended Usha for her adaptability to their circumstances and highlighted the positive aspects of their marriage.
