Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly reached an agreement to face off in an exciting heavyweight match, with key details now disclosed.
In December, news surfaced that the long-standing rivalry between the two fighters would be settled in the boxing ring in 2026. However, shortly after Anthony Joshua’s knockout victory over Jake Paul last Christmas, he was involved in a tragic car accident in Nigeria, resulting in the tragic deaths of his close friends Sina Ghami and Lateef ‘Latz’ Ayodele.
Despite concerns that Joshua might never return to the ring after surviving the accident, the former two-time heavyweight champion is back in light training, hinting at a potential comeback this summer. Speculation suggests that Joshua may first face former rival Dillian Whyte before pursuing a showdown with Fury.
According to boxing journalist Gareth A Davies, both Fury and Joshua have signed an agreement to meet in the ring. Davies disclosed on talkSPORT that the fight is sealed and confirmed, stating, “The Fury-Joshua fight is signed. Okay, it is signed in the background. I’ve got that on good authority.”
Davies also mentioned that the anticipated match will be broadcast live on Netflix, likely scheduled for either later this year or next year, with Joshua eyeing a return to action in June or July. He emphasized, “It’s with the big money people. It’ll be on Netflix. It’s on the cards and it’s going to happen.”
Netflix is set to broadcast Fury’s comeback on April 11. Meanwhile, Joshua is gearing up for a return to full training, aiming for a potential ring return later this year. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, remains optimistic about the British heavyweight clash between Fury and Joshua, expressing that the fight could materialize towards the end of the year or early 2027.
