“Frankie Dettori Retires With Victory in Brazilian Triple Crown”

Frankie Dettori has officially concluded his illustrious racing career with a remarkable victory in Brazil, triumphing in the initial leg of the nation’s Triple Crown. Initially planning to retire at Champions Day in Ascot in October 2023, the renowned jockey had a change of heart and extended his career in the United States.

The 55-year-old announced in November that his final races would take place at the Breeders’ Cup in Del Mar, followed by a brief farewell tour in South America culminating at Gavea racecourse in Rio de Janeiro. During his last races, Dettori achieved success by clinching two wins, firstly on Speak Alpha and then on Bet You Can in the Brazilian 2,000 Guineas, known as the Grande Premio Estado do Rio De Janeiro.

This final triumph allowed Dettori to execute his signature flying dismount celebration, marking the end of an era in his racing journey. Reflecting on this momentous occasion, he expressed his gratitude: “I never expected to win a Group 1 on my last day. It’s been brilliant. I was very emotional. I enjoyed everything. I’ve had a beautiful career and I’m blessed I can walk out in one piece.”

Despite bidding farewell to his jockey career, Dettori revealed his intention to remain active in the racing world by accepting a role as a global ambassador for Kia Joorabchian’s Amo Racing. In a heartfelt message to his fans on social media, Dettori acknowledged the profound impact of racing on his life, expressing gratitude to his family, colleagues, and supporters for their unwavering dedication throughout his remarkable journey. He concluded with a heartfelt message to his fans, thanking them for enabling a young boy to live out his dream.
