“Canadian, Japanese Players Added to Presidents Cup Teams”

International team captain Geoff Ogilvy has selected two Canadian golfers, Corey Conners from Listowel, Ontario, and Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, British Columbia. Additionally, Ryo Hisatsune has been included in the team, marking the first instance since 1998 that the International team features two Japanese players, with Hideki Matsuyama securing one of the six automatic spots.

In a recent announcement, Jackson Koivun was named to the U.S. team for the upcoming Presidents Cup, just three months after departing Auburn. Koivun, who clinched victory at the 3M Open in his third professional start and qualified for the PGA Tour postseason in only five tournaments, has achieved a rare feat. He becomes the first player since Jordan Spieth in 2013 to commence a year without a tour card and compete in the Presidents Cup.

U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker has also selected Jacob Bridgeman, a winner at Riviera this year, for the team. Despite his strong performance, Snedeker bypassed Ryan Gerard, ranked 22nd globally, who put up a competitive display at the Tour Championship, finishing in third place.

The Presidents Cup, scheduled for September 24-27 at Medinah, has undergone a complete renovation courtesy of Ogilvy’s golf course design company based in Australia.
