Teacher pleads guilty to assaulting 15-year-old

A teacher who was described as “obsessed” has confessed to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy and exchanging approximately 25,000 text messages with him.

Allison Havemann-Niedrach, a 45-year-old mother of two from New Jersey, has pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated sexual assault. The potential sentence she is facing is up to 12 years in prison.

According to a police investigation, the inappropriate relationship between Havemann-Niedrach and the teenager started in January 2024 and continued until her arrest in June of the same year. Witnesses reported seeing the teacher having lunch with the student daily, and one witness mentioned observing her touching the boy’s back and neck in a suggestive manner.

The boy’s sister witnessed him sitting in the teacher’s car before he disclosed the sexual relationship to his mother. Subsequently, around 25,000 text messages, including photos and videos of the two together, were discovered on the student’s phone by the police.

Prosecutors revealed that the former teacher, known for her dedication and sincerity on her LinkedIn profile, was fixated on the victim. The victim informed the police that their encounters happened at the teacher’s residence and hotels.

The sentencing is scheduled for May 7, 2026, with the prosecution seeking a 12-year prison term and the revocation of her teaching license.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that Allison Havemann-Niedrach admitted to the sexual crimes against the teenage student during a court hearing. The investigation revealed that the illicit behavior began in January 2024 and lasted for about six months until her arrest in June of the same year. An indictment was issued in March 2025.

The sentencing hearing is set for May 7, 2026, where the State aims to secure a 12-year prison term, revocation of her teaching license, Parole Supervision for Life, and registration as a sex offender. The sentence will be subject to New Jersey’s No Early Release Act (NERA), with 85 percent of the term to be served before the possibility of parole.
