Strictly Come Dancing participant Dani Dyer has provided an update on her injury after withdrawing from this year’s competition. The 29-year-old suffered a fractured ankle during rehearsals for the opening live show with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin.
Due to medical advice, Dani was forced to exit the competition, and Love Island star Amber Davies replaced her. Dani explained, “I had an accident during rehearsals and discovered I had fractured my ankle, making it impossible to perform the quickstep.”
In an interview with Heat Magazine, Dani, the spouse of West Ham player Jarrod Bowen, shared a positive update on her recovery progress. She praised her replacement, Amber Davies, and dance partner Nikita, saying they were fantastic. When asked about a potential return in the future, Dani mentioned leaving it up to the show’s producers.
Amber stepped in for Dani with only 48 hours’ notice before the first live show, impressively performing a Waltz. Despite facing elimination multiple times, Amber’s performances kept her in the competition, leading her to the final alongside George Clarke and Karen Carney. Ultimately, Karen and her partner Carlos Gu secured the victory.
Following the finale, Amber expressed her joy on Instagram, calling it the best night of her life and thanking everyone for their support throughout the four-month journey. She also expressed gratitude to the judges for their belief in her and praised the long-standing hosts of the show, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Regarding potential replacements for the show, BBC Chief Content Officer Kate Phillips mentioned focusing on current production demands before considering new talent. The priority is delivering a successful Strictly series before exploring changes in the upcoming year.
Disney On Ice presents Find Your Hero is currently touring the UK until January 4, 2026. The show features beloved Disney characters bringing timeless tales to life in various cities, with tickets available for purchase on their website.
