Marks and Spencer has emerged as the leading brand in the UK, securing the top position in the recent YouGov BrandIndex rankings.
The evaluation by YouGov BrandIndex, which assesses factors like impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommendation, and reputation over the past year, named M&S as the strongest brand in the UK.
Despite facing a cyber attack in 2025 that disrupted online shopping for several months, Marks and Spencer clinched the top position. Following M&S in the top five are IKEA, Samsung, John Lewis, and Netflix.
The Post Office was recognized as the most improved brand, driven by increased satisfaction levels and enhanced public perception after the Horizon IT scandal. Royal Mail and Fujitsu secured the second and third spots for most improved brands.

WhatsApp secured the top position in the global best brand rankings, driven by remarkable performance in markets like India and Indonesia. Samsung, YouTube, and Google followed closely behind.
Stephan Shakespeare, CEO and Co-founder of YouGov, emphasized the importance of brand connection in addition to performance. The Best Brand Rankings by YouGov reflect sustained consumer appeal over the last year, based on over six million interviews conducted across 28 markets.
M&S CEO Stuart Machin expressed gratitude for being named the UK’s Best Brand for the fourth consecutive year, highlighting the significance of customer feedback. Machin credited the dedicated team at Marks and Spencer for their efforts in achieving this recognition.
