“EDF’s Sunday Saver Challenge Returns: Free Electricity Rewards!”

EDF has reintroduced its Sunday Saver challenge for February, offering customers free electricity on Sundays if they reduce their electricity usage during weekday peak hours from 4pm to 7pm. Customers who participate will receive between four and 16 hours of free electricity on the following Sunday. EDF customers with smart meters can sign up for the challenge until February 1.

Since the initiative began, over 260,000 households have earned more than 17 million free hours of electricity through the Sunday Saver challenge. EDF has already credited £5.2 million onto customers’ bills as a result of this program.

Natasha Shields from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has benefited significantly from the Sunday Saver challenge, earning over 680 free hours of electricity on Sundays. Shields expressed gratitude for the initiative, stating that it has helped her family cope with rising living costs. She shared that they adjust their electricity usage during peak hours and utilize the free electricity they earn on Sundays for essential tasks like cleaning and meal preparation.

EDF’s Sales & Marketing Director, Jon Perks, emphasized the importance of the Sunday Saver program, especially during the winter months when energy bills tend to be higher. He highlighted that customers can monitor their energy usage through the Energy Hub platform, enabling them to identify opportunities to save electricity and reduce their carbon footprint.

Customers can track their Sunday Saver progress on Energy Hub via MyAccount, where they can access personalized insights into their household’s energy consumption. Additionally, EDF is now offering £50 credit to new and existing customers who sign up for any of its electric vehicle tariffs over the next month. These tariffs provide five hours of cheaper electricity every night between 12am and 5am for both homes and electric vehicles.
