Christine Lampard to Exit Lorraine Show Amid ITV Cutbacks

Christine Lampard has officially announced that she will no longer be filling in for Lorraine Kelly due to upcoming ITV cutbacks. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Lorraine’s show would be shortened to half an hour daily for 30 weeks each year, eliminating the need for a regular replacement host. Christine, who has been a stand-in for eight years, and Ranvir Singh will now have reduced hosting duties but will continue to be part of the ITV Daytime lineup, with Ranvir on GMB and Christine on Loose Women. Christine shared her departure news on Instagram, expressing gratitude for her time on the show.

In July, Kevin Lygo, the managing director of ITV media and entertainment, announced significant changes to the daytime schedule, with ITN taking over the production of Good Morning Britain. These adjustments are aimed at maintaining viewer engagement and trust while also allowing for cost savings to be reinvested in other program genres. An insider revealed concerns among Lorraine staff about potential quality declines following the upcoming show reductions, with fears that Lorraine may consider leaving if standards are not upheld.
