Martin Scorsese has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late filmmaker Rob Reiner. The renowned Hollywood figure, along with his wife Michele, was tragically discovered deceased at their residence in Los Angeles on December 14. Their son Nick, 32, is presently in custody following his arrest in connection with the tragic incident.

Approximately two weeks following the shocking events that shook the entertainment industry, esteemed director Martin, aged 83, expressed his sorrow over the passing of Rob and Michele, aged 78 and 70, respectively. The pair notably collaborated on the 2013 movie “The Wolf Of Wall Street,” with Rob featuring as Max Belfort and Martin serving as the director.

Reflecting on the loss of his colleague, Martin honored Rob’s legacy, describing him as a “Master.” Recalling their enduring friendship that began in the 1970s, the Oscar-winning filmmaker emphasized the profound impact Rob had on his life.

In a poignant piece for the New York Times, Martin reminisced: “Rob Reiner was my friend, and so was Michele. From now on, I’ll have to use the past tense, and that fills me with such profound sadness. But there’s no other choice.”

Detailing their bond, the actor of “Shutter Island” fame lauded Rob’s wit and charm, highlighting his comedic prowess and genuine camaraderie. Martin also praised Rob’s directorial achievements, particularly citing the films “Misery” and “This Is Spinal Tap” as standout creations.

Regarding their collaboration on “The Wolf of Wall Street,” Martin praised Rob’s versatility and deep understanding of his character, portraying a complex figure torn between love, success, and impending downfall.

Numerous celebrities have joined in honoring Rob and Michele’s memory. Actress Kathy Bates, who starred in Rob’s film “Misery,” shared her gratitude for the life-changing opportunity he provided her. The late couple’s other children, Jake, 34, and Romy, 28, expressed their profound grief, emphasizing the irreplaceable loss of their beloved parents.
