Swiss authorities are actively seeking multiple individuals who have been reported missing following a tragic fire on New Year’s Eve that resulted in the deaths of around 40 people and left over 100 others injured. The fire broke out at the Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana around 1:30 am on New Year’s Day, with witnesses recalling seeing staff entering the building with champagne and flares shortly before the blaze erupted, prompting survivors to break windows in desperate attempts to escape.
In the aftermath of the incident, there are seven confirmed missing persons, including four teenagers whose families are anxiously seeking any information that could help locate them. Among the missing is 16-year-old Arthur Brodard, who had reserved a table at Le Constellation to celebrate the new year with a group of school friends, of whom only one has been accounted for. Concerned mother Laetitia Brodard expressed her distress, stating that she has been searching for her son for over 30 hours without any leads.
Alicia and Diana Gonset, aged 15 and 14, have also been reported missing by their family members in the aftermath of the tragic event. Additionally, 15-year-old Alice, originally from Greece and a Swiss resident, has been missing since the fire broke out, with her family pleading for any information about her whereabouts.
Another missing individual is 22-year-old French national Emilie, who was visiting Crans-Montana with friends and has not been seen since the incident. Emilie’s grandfather, Pierre, has made a public appeal for information, describing her tattoos in hopes of locating her.
Carla Masielli, the mother of missing 16-year-old Giovanni from Italy, is desperately seeking information about her son, who was holidaying in Crans-Montana with his father and friends before the fire occurred. Similarly, family and friends of Stiven, a Macedonian whose age has not been disclosed, are urgently searching for him, as he was last seen prior to the fire wearing distinctive white clothing and sunglasses.
The search for the missing individuals continues as families and authorities work tirelessly to locate them following the tragic incident.
