London authorities have charged a local massage therapist with sexual assault and suspect there could be additional unidentified victims. The police were initially alerted on July 30 by a complainant who stated she had been sexually assaulted during a treatment session the day before. Following an inquiry, officers detained 47-year-old Christian Javier Gutierrez on the same day. Subsequently, two more individuals came forward, prompting the police to file three more sexual assault charges against Gutierrez.
Gutierrez voluntarily surrendered to the police on Monday, made a court appearance in London on Wednesday, and was granted release pending a future court appearance scheduled for later in August. He runs a massage therapy practice in the downtown area, and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario has been informed of the situation. Authorities suspect there might be additional victims who have not yet reported any incidents.
