Khachanov Upsets Auger-Aliassime in U.S. Open

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime exited the U.S. Open on Wednesday after losing his second-round match to Russia’s Karen Khachanov in four sets. Despite winning the first set in a tiebreak, Auger-Aliassime struggled in the following sets, with Khachanov ultimately prevailing. Khachanov, ranked world No. 50, capitalized on Auger-Aliassime’s difficulties and secured his second top-10 win at a Grand Slam by breaking the Canadian’s serve seven times.

Auger-Aliassime started strong but faced a series of errors that allowed Khachanov to take control. Khachanov maintained his momentum throughout the match, dominating the subsequent sets. With a display of confidence in his shots, Khachanov swiftly claimed victory in the fourth set.

Khachanov’s next opponent will be determined between Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi and Peruvian 32nd seed Ignacio Buse. Meanwhile, other notable players like Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, and Alexander Zverev advanced in the tournament, with thrilling matches and unexpected outcomes marking the action at the U.S. Open.
