Brampton initially took a 6-0 lead in the canceled match, but the game was stopped after Sea Bears’ Xavier Moon slipped on the court. This one-game championship format was chosen as the fairest and most practical way to determine a champion, reverting to the format used in previous years.
The Honey Badgers have a history of success, having won a CEBL title in 2022. Meanwhile, the Sea Bears have surprised many with their impressive playoff run, culminating in a spot in the championship series. The two teams are owned by siblings, adding an interesting off-court dynamic to the final matchup.
