Boxer Anthony Joshua Hospitalized After Car Crash

Anthony Joshua has been hospitalized following a minor car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two individuals. The incident occurred when Joshua’s Jeep collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in southwestern Nigeria.

According to Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, who was informed about the crash while on vacation in the Caribbean, Joshua sustained minor injuries but was en route to the hospital at the time. Details regarding the accident are still limited.

Reports indicate that Joshua was seated in the back of a vehicle involved in the accident, part of a two-car convoy with a Pajero SUV and a Lexus SUV, accompanied by security personnel in a trailing vehicle. Eyewitnesses at the scene described the vehicles and the positioning of the occupants during the crash.

The vehicle carrying Joshua reportedly veered into the truck after a tire burst, causing the driver to lose control. Local authorities are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Despite the accident, images from witnesses show Joshua standing up, and local police have confirmed that the 36-year-old boxer is in good condition with minor injuries.

Joshua, who had recently participated in an exhibition fight against Jake Paul in Miami, Florida, is currently recuperating in Nigeria. He has hinted at significant plans for 2026 and reignited his rivalry with Tyson Fury via social media.

Both Joshua and Fury have been engaged in a long-standing verbal feud, with speculation suggesting that a potential bout between the two could materialize under the auspices of Riyadh Season and His Excellency Turki Alalshikh.

After his victory over Paul, Joshua publicly called out Fury, challenging him to step into the ring and settle their differences with their fists. The anticipation for a potential showdown between the two heavyweight champions continues to grow.
