Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime suffered a 6-3, 6-4 defeat against American Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open on Wednesday evening. Despite Auger-Aliassime’s 13-2 lead in aces, he committed 37 unforced errors while Tiafoe, the 17th seed, only had 16 unforced errors. Tiafoe secured the win in a match that lasted one hour and 40 minutes.
In the third-round doubles match, Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Barbora Krejcikova of Czechia were defeated 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 by the Czech pair of Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova. Dabrowski, hailing from Ottawa, typically partners with Luisa Stefani, but the Brazilian player has been sidelined with an elbow injury in recent weeks.
