After being inspired by the movie ‘Crocodile Dundee’, Ginger Meadows, a 24-year-old American model from Snowmass Village, Colorado, embarked on a trip to explore the Australian Outback. Tragically, her journey took a grim turn.
On March 29, 1987, Ginger and her friend Jane Burchett ventured to the King’s Cascade on a luxury boat named Lady G, operated by skipper Bruce Fitzpatrick. Despite the warnings about the presence of crocodiles, the pair decided to take a risky swim near the waterfall.
Ignoring the danger, Ginger and Jane found themselves cornered by a large saltwater crocodile. Jane attempted to fend off the predator with her shoe, but Ginger was swiftly overpowered and dragged underwater by the beast. Tragically, Ginger’s life was cut short in a horrifying crocodile attack.
Ginger’s lifeless body was discovered the next day, her remains placed in a body bag on a rescue boat. The incident, marked by Chief Inspector Arnold Davies, highlighted the perilous encounters with crocodiles in the region, with statistics revealing numerous attacks over the years.
