“Stargazers Delight: Perseid Meteor Shower Illuminates Skies Worldwide”

The annual Perseid meteor shower happens when Earth moves through the debris trail left by Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. This celestial event reached its peak during the night, coinciding with a new moon that created perfect viewing conditions for stargazers as the absence of moonlight did not obstruct the visibility. During the early hours of Thursday, a meteor streaked across the night sky above the Stone Dolls of Kuklica near Kratovo, North Macedonia. Meanwhile, at Mount Avala near Belgrade, Serbia, a group of individuals gathered around the Monument to the Unknown Hero to witness the Perseid meteor shower.

In another striking image, a meteor streaks across the night sky above the megalithic stone walls of the ancient Illyrian city of Daorson near Stolac, in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina. Also, a meteor with a distinctive green tail and the trails of two satellites were visible from Jacobsdorf, Germany, during the Perseid meteor shower on Wednesday.
