The heavyweight boxing champion was driving a Lexus jeep when the collision occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Makun, Nigeria. The incident, which took place on Monday morning, involved a stationary truck.
While Joshua sustained minor injuries and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, unfortunately, two members of his team, Sina Ghami and Kevin ‘Lateef’ Ayodele, did not survive the crash. A statement from Joshua’s team expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the two close friends and emphasized the need for privacy for their families during this difficult time.
In response to the tragedy, Shannon Courtenay and Myles Stephenson paid their respects through social media posts. The Ogun state government reported that Joshua is in stable condition and under medical observation, along with another passenger involved in the accident.
