Chappell Roan’s Admiration for Brigitte Bardot Shifts

Chappell Roan has reconsidered her admiration for Brigitte Bardot after discovering their conflicting perspectives on life. Bardot, a prominent figure celebrated as an iconic pin-up, passed away on December 28 at the age of 91, leaving many saddened by the news.

The French model and film star gained worldwide fame through her role in the 1957 film “And God Created Woman” and also found success in music. Contemporary singer Chappell, known by her real name Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, initially mourned the loss of the trailblazing Bardot, who had influenced her music creativity.

In a social media tribute, Chappell acknowledged Bardot as an inspiration for her song “Red Wine Supernova” but faced backlash from online users criticizing Bardot’s controversial statements, including instances of inciting racial hatred and derogatory remarks towards certain groups.

Reflecting on the new information, Chappell took to Instagram Stories to express her shock at Bardot’s controversial viewpoints, stating that she does not support such ideologies. Bardot, known for her significant contributions to film and music, transitioned to become an animal rights advocate, a role she maintained until her passing after a brief illness and surgery.

The Brigitte Bardot Foundation mourned her loss, highlighting her dedication to animal welfare and the legacy she leaves behind. Bardot, who resided in Saint-Tropez, was rushed to a hospital in Toulon where she eventually passed away. During her lifetime, she had four marriages, the most recent being to political advisor Bernard d’Ormale in 1992.

Despite being considered for a role in a James Bond film, Bardot declined the opportunity in favor of other projects, such as starring alongside Sean Connery in the Western film “Shalako.” Following her demise, several Hollywood stars paid tribute to Bardot, including Sofia Vergara, Christie Brinkley, and Lindsay Lohan, among others.

Cherished as a timeless beauty and symbol of strength, Bardot’s impact on entertainment and animal advocacy continues through the work of her foundation.
