“ICE Officer Shoots Venezuelan Immigrant in Minneapolis”

A video circulating online allegedly captures the moment a man, identified by the Department for Homeland Security (DHS) as a Venezuelan immigrant, was shot in the leg by an ICE officer during a traffic stop in Minneapolis. This incident occurred shortly after the fatal shooting of Renee Good, leading to unrest in the city.

The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was swiftly taken to the hospital after the shooting. In a newly surfaced video, he can be heard shouting for help, as individuals inside a residence make frantic calls in Spanish, alleging that ICE agents had been following him for about 30 minutes before the shooting took place.

Reports suggest that the ICE agent attempted to shoot the man as he rushed into the house, even firing in the direction of the property while children were present. Distressed voices in the video plead for assistance, emphasizing the presence of children in the home.

According to the DHS, the man, allegedly an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, tried to evade a targeted traffic stop and was released into the country in 2022. The department claimed that the ICE agent shot the man in self-defense, feeling threatened by three individuals during the encounter. Following the shooting, the man and two others reportedly fled into an apartment building before being taken to the hospital for treatment.
