A mother of three fell victim to a horrifying gang rape that lasted for several hours inside a moving van before she was ejected onto the road, according to authorities in India.
The assault occurred overnight between Monday and Tuesday when the married mother of three was seeking transportation home in Faridabad, near Delhi.
The incident unfolded when a van pulled over, and two young men enticed the woman inside under the guise of offering her a ride home. Once inside, she was allegedly sexually assaulted multiple times as the van headed towards Gurgaon Road.
For approximately two and a half hours, she was confined inside the van while her attackers continued their assault and issued threats whenever she resisted.
Eventually, she was forcefully thrown from the moving vehicle, sustaining severe facial injuries, and was left injured by the roadside near Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar.
In a desperate attempt for help, the victim reached out to her sister. Upon learning of the distressing situation, family members rushed to the location and transported the woman to the hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition.
Medical professionals at the hospital performed facial stitches on the victim. Although her condition is now stable, she remains in shock and has not been able to provide a formal statement.
Prior to the attack, the victim had informed her sister in a phone call the evening before, around 8:30 pm, that she had a disagreement with her mother and was planning to stay at a friend’s residence. She assured her sister that she would return home within three hours. The woman, who is married but living separately from her husband due to a domestic dispute, has three children.
Authorities have confirmed the arrest of both suspects involved in the assault and have recovered the van used during the incident. An investigation is currently underway.
