A brand-new UK financial institution has been unveiled today after a significant rebranding effort. JN Bank UK has transformed into This Bank, stylized as thisbank, and has reintroduced itself to the market with a variety of savings products. This Bank is offering an easy-access account with an interest rate of 3.82%, surpassing the average easy-access rate of 2.45%, although there are potentially higher rates available elsewhere.
For instance, Chase is providing a 4.5% rate exclusively for new customers, comprising a 2.25% variable rate and a 12-month introductory 2.25% bonus rate. This Bank also presents fixed-term saving options ranging from one to five years.
The one-year fixed account offers a 3.99% interest rate, while the leading rate for a one-year fixed account currently stands at 4.55% from Marcus. Deposits with This Bank can range from a minimum of £1 up to a maximum of £500,000.
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme safeguards your savings up to £120,000 with This Bank. Notably, This Bank does not provide current accounts and does not maintain physical branches.
Chris Waring, the CEO, previously associated with Lloyds and Barclays, emphasized the customer-centric approach of This Bank. He stated that the institution aims to prioritize customers, ensuring direct communication with a real person. Waring highlighted, “Our focus is on delivering competitive rates tailored to customers’ needs.”
Declan Halton-Woodward, Chief Transformation Officer, emphasized the human-centric approach of thisbank, combining technology with a customer-first mindset. The bank’s core ethos revolves around providing customers with personalized interactions.
JN Bank, established in 2019, introduced its initial savings products in 2020 and has garnered approximately 65,000 customers, with deposits totaling around £600 million.
Easy-access savings accounts enable flexible withdrawals, subject to withdrawal limitations set by providers. Notice accounts necessitate advance notice for withdrawals, while fixed-rate accounts typically restrict withdrawals until the end of the term.
ISA, short for Individual Savings Account, allows tax-free interest earnings. You can deposit up to £20,000 annually across your ISA accounts.
