Virgin Media has recently slashed the price of its fastest broadband offering to a new all-time low. The company has launched an unexpected sale, reducing the cost of its ultra-fast Gig1 Fibre Broadband by over £70.
The Gig1 plan provides speeds of up to 1,130Mbps and typically costs £29.99 per month. However, it is now available for just £26.99, resulting in a total saving of £72 over the 24-month contract duration. This translates to approximately 87p per day.
Virgin claims that this discounted rate is the lowest ever offered for the Gig1 plan. With these speeds, users can download a feature-length HD movie in under 30 seconds and have a 50GB PS5 game ready to play in less than seven minutes.
While households with 70Mbps speeds may need over 90 minutes to download the same game, Virgin’s Gig1 plan ensures smooth streaming and online gaming experiences. It is important to note that the discounted rate of £26.99 will increase twice within the minimum term, rising to £30.99 from April 2027 and £34.99 from April 2028.
