Kirstie Allsopp, well-known for her show Location Location Location, tied the knot with her partner of 21 years, Ben Andersen, in a private ceremony at Mayfair’s Grosvenor Chapel last January. The couple’s decision to marry came as a surprise, as Ben had initially expressed reluctance to remarry after his first marriage ended.
Their wedding was organized swiftly, with Kirstie choosing her wedding dress just a fortnight before the ceremony. The couple’s children and Ben’s older sons from his previous marriage acted as ushers during the event. Among the guests were Kirstie’s sisters, her cousin, and designer India Hicks.
Notably absent from the ceremony was Kirstie’s long-time co-host, Phil Spencer, who couldn’t make it due to short notice. Kirstie later disclosed that they revealed the wedding plans to their children on Christmas Day, keeping the event a secret until shortly before the ceremony.
The intimate ceremony, lasting around 40 minutes, featured a selection of meaningful music, including The Beatles’ classic “All You Need Is Love.” Kirstie, who chose the venue due to its sentimental value, shared that she wanted to avoid the attention typically associated with weddings. She opted out of having a traditional hen night before the wedding, emphasizing her aversion to the spotlight.
Despite their efforts to keep the wedding private, Kirstie later shared a photo from the day on Instagram after spotting paparazzi nearby. In her post, she expressed gratitude for the hard work put in by the people who made their special day memorable.
