“Russia Launches Deadly Air Attacks on Kyiv, Escalating Conflict”

Russia launched air attacks on Kyiv using drones and missiles early Tuesday, killing two people and causing fires across the Ukrainian capital. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported 10 injuries in the city, with falling debris sparking fires in residential buildings. The assault damaged numerous high-rise buildings, a dormitory, a school, a clinic, warehouses, and other structures.

The attacks resumed after U.S. peace envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff departed Kyiv following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as part of efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine. Russia escalated its airstrikes on Kyiv and surrounding areas, targeting military and logistical sites. Meanwhile, Poland initiated preventive measures against potential Russian missile strikes on Ukraine, leading to the temporary suspension of flights at Lublin airport.

In retaliation, Ukrainian drones struck civilian infrastructure in the Russian city of Saratov, causing damage and injuries. Additionally, a Ukrainian attack on the Crimean peninsula, annexed by Russia in 2014, resulted in two deaths and one injury, according to regional governor Sergei Aksyonov. The situation remains tense as both sides engage in escalating military actions.
