Two young entrepreneurs in Windsor have found a unique way to earn money while providing a valuable service to their community. Gavin Campeau and Alden Hartleib, aged 12 and 13, have established themselves as the Riverside Bin Bros. Rather than shying away from the unpleasant odors emanating from garbage and compost bins, these industrious youngsters are offering to clean them for their neighbors in exchange for a fee.
Inspired by a TikTok video, Campeau and Hartleib decided to bring the bin cleaning idea to Windsor. Using a power washer and soap, they diligently clean garbage, recycle, and compost bins by knocking on doors in the neighborhood. Beyond just making a profit, the boys have seized the opportunity to connect with their neighbors and learn more about their community during the summer months.
The Riverside community has rallied behind the young entrepreneurs, with positive reviews and support pouring in after a satisfied customer shared her experience on a local Facebook group. Both sets of parents have expressed pride in their children’s initiative, emphasizing the importance of encouraging kids to engage in productive activities and step away from screens.
