Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face a setback as they bid farewell to their 11th public relations representative in just five years following the departure of their chief communications officer.
Meredith Maines, who served the couple for less than a year, will be pursuing a new opportunity in 2026 after a year of notable work with Harry and Meghan. Additionally, the duo has ended ties with US-based PR agency Method Communications, engaged in June to boost their business and philanthropic initiatives.
Maines, who started as the chief communications officer for the Sussexes in March 2025, managed all external communications for Harry and Meghan. This encompassed overseeing Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever, their media production company, Archewell Productions, and their joint charity, Archewell Philanthropies. However, rumors suggest Maines’ departure may be linked to a mishandled situation involving deleted photos of the couple at a Kardashian party.
While some sources indicate Maines’ exit might be due to recent controversies, others suggest she is departing on a positive note after facilitating Harry’s reunion with his father earlier. Despite the conflicting reports, Maines’ departure has been confirmed by a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan, expressing gratitude for her contributions.
In her statement, Maines expressed appreciation for the opportunity to work with Prince Harry and Meghan, highlighting the positive impact of their endeavors. The couple’s spokesperson conveyed their thanks to Maines and Method Communications for their work with Archewell.
