The 16-year-old John was seated in the front passenger seat when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. Despite adverse weather conditions that night, the group of friends, excited for the concert, disregarded the risks.
Listening to music and engaged in conversation, the teenagers enthusiastically headed towards Minneapolis to see their “hometown hero,” as described by YouTuber MrBallen. Just as John turned to express his excitement to his friends in the back seat about seeing the Purple Rain singer, the driver lost control, leading to the fatal crash.
