“Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Up for Grabs in Star Wars Auction”

In a recent auction, a lightsaber featuring Luke Skywalker’s hand from “The Empire Strikes Back” was sold for a record-breaking $3.75 million. This sale marked the highest price ever achieved for a prop used in a “Star Wars” movie, as confirmed by the auction house.

The upcoming Ultimate Star Wars Auction by Heritage Auctions on Nov. 12 will offer the Darth Vader lightsaber that was used in the iconic duel in Cloud City, where the famous line “I am your father” was uttered. This lightsaber, also seen in “Return of the Jedi,” is anticipated to sell for a minimum of $1 million. Over two dozen lightsaber props spanning “Star Wars” Episodes I to IX, as well as other productions from the George Lucas universe, will be available at the auction.

Among the items up for sale are the lightsabers wielded by Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker in “Revenge of the Sith,” each estimated to fetch at least $10,000. Additionally, an EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in “The Empire Strikes Back” is projected to surpass $100,000 in value.

The auction will also feature unique items such as a Yoda puppet hand used by Frank Oz in “The Empire Strikes Back,” actor Anthony Daniels’ signed screenplay for the original 1977 “Star Wars,” and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
