Conservative Member of Parliament Larry Brock has announced his resignation from the House of Commons scheduled for next month. Representing the Ontario constituency of Brantford—Brant South—Six Nations, Brock was elected as a Member of Parliament in both the 2021 and 2025 federal elections. Before entering politics, he worked as an assistant Crown attorney.
In a social media post on Thursday, Brock revealed that he has accepted a position to return to the Brantford Crown Attorney’s office. His resignation is set to be effective on September 18, according to the announcement letter detailing his departure.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre expressed his gratitude to Brock for his service as an MP in a brief message posted on X, wishing him and his family success and happiness. Following the 2025 federal election where the Conservatives secured the second-highest number of seats, the party has witnessed the departure of seven MPs, including Brock, from its federal caucus.
Among the MPs who left the Conservative Party, Chris d’Entremont, Michael Ma, Matt Jeneroux, and Marilyn Gladu crossed the floor to join the governing Liberals. Additionally, Richard Martel, the former MP for Chicoutimi—Le Fjord in Quebec, was appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Mark Carney in July.
Another Conservative MP, Cathay Wagantall, who has served since 2015, will be stepping down from her position representing Yorkton—Melville in Saskatchewan effective August 31.
