“Seattle Storm Defeats Undermanned Toronto Tempo 90-78”

Flau’jae Johnson led the scoring with 20 points, supported by Dominique Malonga who contributed 18 points as the Seattle Storm triumphed over the undermanned Toronto Tempo with a final score of 90-78 in their hometown clash on Wednesday evening. Jade Melbourne showcased a strong performance with 16 points and seven assists for Seattle (8-31), breaking a streak of 14 losses in their last 15 games. Awa Fam and Zia Cooke also chipped in with 10 points each.

Toronto, missing its top scorers Marina Mabrey (adductor), Brittney Sykes (foot), and Nyara Sabally (calf), relied on rookie Kiki Rice who achieved a season-high of 24 points. Isabelle Harrison contributed significantly with 17 points and 14 rebounds for Toronto (11-27).

Seattle took control of the game by finishing the third quarter with an 11-4 run, securing a 64-61 lead, and then starting the fourth quarter with a 9-2 spurt, extending their lead to 10 points.

Looking ahead, the Tempo will face Las Vegas on Friday night, while the Storm will host Los Angeles on Sunday.
