His term officially commences on October 1, coinciding with this year’s festival scheduled from September 10 to 20. Tory takes over the position previously held by Jeffrey Remedios, who served as chair starting in 2021.
Remedios commended TIFF and its leadership, stating his enduring pride in the role he played in the festival’s evolution. Additionally, TIFF announced the addition of three new members to its board of directors: Deborah Flint, David Furnish, and Daniel Tisch EchevarrÃa. Meanwhile, Asha Daniere, who had been on the board for nine years, is stepping down. TIFF expressed gratitude for Daniere’s dedicated service and contributions to the organization.
