“Taylor Swift Music Excluded from Trump Campaign Videos”

Some Taylor Swift music has been excluded from social media videos shared by U.S. President Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House. The White House and a representative for Swift have not yet responded to requests for comments.

Swift has not recently addressed Trump, but she did endorse his Democratic opponent, then Vice-President Kamala Harris, in the 2024 elections. During the 2020 campaign, Swift expressed her disapproval of Trump as president on social media.

Trump has been openly critical of Swift, particularly after she endorsed Harris. Numerous artists, including Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, have urged the Trump administration not to use their songs.

The Trump campaign featured two of Swift’s songs on its TikTok page in the past week. Additionally, a video posted in June showcased Swift’s new song “I Knew It, I Knew You” alongside footage of Trump engaging with children, attending a UFC match, and participating in a rally.

This marks the third instance where Trump’s administration or campaign has utilized Swift’s music in recent months. In April, a video shared by the White House included Swift’s “High Infidelity” and featured the lyrics “Do you really want to know where I was April 29th?” Another TikTok video in November incorporated Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” from her album “The Life of a Showgirl.”

The use of Swift’s music in these videos generated significant social media buzz, with a White House spokesperson explaining that the videos were created to attract media attention. Trump’s communications team, known for its active presence on social media, has shared various songs in conjunction with images related to Trump’s policies and international events.
