“Struggling Worcestershire Households Eligible for £500 Energy Aid”

Struggling households in Worcestershire are being encouraged to determine their eligibility for receiving financial aid of up to £500 to assist with energy bills. To qualify for this support, residents must reside in specific districts within Worcestershire, such as Malvern, Worcester, Wychavon, Bromsgrove, Redditch, or Wyre Forest, and have a gross annual household income of £24,570 or less for single individuals without children.

For other households, the income threshold is £31,000, excluding any benefits received, with additional requirements including no household savings and meeting certain vulnerability criteria, such as receiving DWP benefits, being of state pension age, or having children under four years old.

Households with children under 18 or young adults up to 21 in full-time education may be eligible for up to £500 in energy assistance, while other households could receive up to £300 in support. Payments will be made directly to energy suppliers or through Post Office vouchers for pre-payment customers. The application process can be completed through the Act On Energy website.

This initiative is part of the Household Support Fund provided by Worcestershire County Council to aid vulnerable families. Residents outside Worcestershire are advised to inquire with their local council for available support options. For instance, Surrey County Council is offering supermarket vouchers worth up to £300, redeemable at various supermarkets like Aldi, Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, and Waitrose.

Nottingham City Council is distributing £100 vouchers to low-income individuals or those on benefits, with distribution ongoing until February 28, 2026. Similarly, Wakefield Council is offering food vouchers to low-income households receiving council tax assistance, while Council Tax Support recipients in various areas will receive vouchers ranging from £50 to £70 during specific periods.
