A teenager has been accused of murdering his neighbor before taking up residence in the deceased person’s home. Xzavion Johnson allegedly committed the crime, leaving the victim’s body in the garden for a period of two weeks until his subsequent arrest.
Johnson is facing charges of murder and burglary related to the death of 57-year-old David Jimenez, whose body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition by authorities.
The teenager is alleged to have unlawfully occupied his neighbor’s residence until police conducted a welfare check on David, prompted by neighbors’ suspicions of someone else living in the house. Johnson’s mother informed law enforcement that she had not seen her son since late December 2025, but upon checking on David, she reportedly found a package addressed to her son on the front porch.
Additionally, she reported a foul odor emanating from David’s garden, leading to the discovery of the body in an advanced state of decay. Police attempted to contact Johnson inside the residence, leading to a standoff where he barricaded himself for an extended period before being apprehended by authorities.
Johnson, hailing from Arizona, was taken into custody by the Phoenix Police Department and formally charged. He allegedly confessed to police that he had visited Jimenez’s home on December 29 with the intention of robbing him, armed with a gun he had stolen ten days earlier.
According to his statement to the police, Johnson claimed to have encountered Jimenez in the open side gate of the property, where he proceeded to fatally shoot him.
In a separate incident, a three-year-old child tragically lost his life in a dog attack at his grandmother’s residence after entering the pet’s outdoor enclosure. The toddler, Beckett Brown, was attacked by an American Bulldog, with his grandmother attempting to intervene to save him.
The child’s grandmother sustained injuries during the incident and rushed both herself and the child to the hospital for immediate medical attention. Despite efforts, the child succumbed to his injuries, while the grandmother received treatment at a different medical facility.
Authorities investigating the incident confirmed that the dog involved had been euthanized, ensuring no ongoing safety risks to the surrounding community. The fatal event occurred on a Sunday afternoon at the property near New York Mills, New York, as per the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
